INTRODUCTION
Texas Petrographic Services produces a wide range of rocks and minerals thin section computerized equipment. These are produced to high standards in the department of thin section-laboratory preparation service from sent-in hand specimens, well cuttings to whole rock, which are reduced to many sizes.
Our thin sections are handled by different lab technicians in specialized departments from impregnation to grinding to polishing. The section is made by grinding down a slice of rock which has been mounted to a glass slide until it reaches the correct thickness. Our mounting technique will admit most minerals to become more transparent and ready to be analyzed by a microscoping transmitted light.
